Your luxury Hawaiian vacation experience begins with registration at the front desk of one of our two beautiful Mauna Kea Resort Hotels - Mauna Kea Beach Hotel or Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. Your pre-arrival instructions will direct you to the designated Hotel.
At registration, you will receive a Welcome Packet that includes a Guide to Mauna Kea Resort, a map of the Resort with directions to your Resort "home", as well as two entry cards that will give you access to parking and the fitness center at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Your Guide will include a Summary of the privileges you will have access to at both Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, and information on Resort dining and activities available during your stay.
The directions below will assist you on your drive to Mauna Kea Resort:
DIRECTIONS from Keahole-Kona International Airport (KOA)
- As you leave the airport turn LEFT onto Highway 19 (Queen Ka'ahumanu or Queen "K" Highway). You will be heading NORTH towards the Kohala Coast and Kawaihae.
- Drive NORTH about 27 miles, or approximately 30 minutes
- Half-way Point: After about 15 minutes you will reach the half-way point and will see the Waikoloa Beach Resort entrance with 2 wooden pyramids on your left
- As you continue on through the next signal, you will pass helicopters on your right, the entrance to Mauna Lani Resort on your left, then the fire station on your left. Watch for the sign that says "Hapuna Beach State Park" and you are almost there!
- Registration at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel
Watch for the next entrance on your RIGHT and turn RIGHT into the driveway lined with Royal Palms. At the entry gate, let the Security Officer know that you are checking into the Resort. Proceed on the same road (Kauna'oa Drive) until you reach the Hotel. Note that you will pass the Hapuna Golf Course on your RIGHT just before you come to the Hotel. Go just a little further and you will see the Hotel entrance on your LEFT. Turn LEFT and proceed to the porte cochere. Tell the valet that you are checking into a home on the Resort. - Registration at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel
Drive past the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel entrance on your right and you will see the entry for the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel on your LEFT. Turn LEFT and proceed to the entry. Let the Security Officer know that you are checking into the Resort. Proceed on the same road (Mauna Kea Beach Drive) until you reach the Hotel. Note that you will be passing by the Mauna Kea Golf Course, will see a breathtaking ocean view ahead and then will make a curve to the left. Drive past the parking lot and make a RIGHT at the Hotel entrance and proceed to the porte cochere. Tell the valet that you are checking into a home on the Resort.
